You Can Include Your High-resolution, Digital JPEG Files

When you talk to a photographer, have you ever asked for the RAW files? Some think this means getting all the proofs, which is a misunderstanding.  Educate yourself here.  Find out what the 3 most misunderstood terms in photography are.

Here Are The 3 Most Misunderstood Terms in Photography

What is the difference between RAW & JPEG files? RAW files are straight out of camera in a format that can only be read by certain programs. So, if you were to get the RAW files, you would be getting files that couldn’t be previewed or printed by the average person. If you are looking to get all the files to share on social media or to print, you will want to ask for the digital files or JPEG files. JPEG files  have been edited and color corrected, and can be opened on any computer.

What is the difference between EDITING & RETOUCHING? Editing is when the color and exposure is adjusted.  Retouching is when the blemishes and fly-away hairs, etc. are removed. This requires more in-depth work on a file.  Retouching is usually done on request and costs extra.  I retouch files that go into an album or are ordered as prints, at no extra charge.

The Third Most Misunderstood Term in Photography

What is the difference between HIGH-RESOLUTION & LOW-RESOLUTION? Low-resolution files are web-ready, for social media sharing. High resolution files are print-ready up to about 8x10 in print size. Wall art or larger prints should be left up to a professional to print. They use archival paper and special sprays to help them last years and years, with no fading or degrading of color.  These are heirlooms that you hand down from generation to generation.

Image boxes are great ways to carry 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10 images.
